| Description: | WHAT is ypsiGLOW? On Friday October 26th from 7-10 p.m., downtown Ypsilanti will glow bright with hundreds of community and artist creations, for a night of dancing, DJs raised into the air, interactive art activities, black-lit stations, street performances, glowing window displays, and more. This year were partnering with even more businesses and organizations to create a brighter and more bombastic event with you! Be sure to join us at the community meeting on September 6th and office hours every Tuesday and Thursday to share your dreams and visions. In the weeks leading up to the event, community members of all ages are invited to participate in FREE creative workshops to make luminaries and costumes for the event, co-hosted by local artists, businesses, and organizations. GLOWorkshop dates/ times TBD. Local artists also activate downtown storefronts with installations, showing just how vibrant downtown Ypsilanti can be. Several of these windows come to life during the event, along with over a dozen other multi-media projects, like video projections, giant luminaries, performance art, live painting, shadow puppets, chalk muralists, and laser shows. | ||
