The State Holiday is a 3-day celebration here in the State Capital, beginning on Thursday with an Official Kick-Off with recognition during the morning Senate and House legislative sessions followed by a 5:30 Opening Ceremony at Lansing City Hall Lobby. On Friday and Saturday, the celebration will be held at Lansing's historical St. Joseph Park. We are inviting every Lansing area resident to share in this Celebration, with music, food, African Heritage exhibits, a Health Fair, and fun for the entire community.
