| Description: | In the Saginaw Bay region, waterfowl is not only a sport but also an art. Likewise to the rest of Michigan, waterfowl hunting, wildlife viewing and wetland exploring is a motivation to artists and a heritage that we want to preserve. The mission of the event is to inspire awareness and appreciation for Michigan's world-class wetland and waterfowl resources, the sport of waterfowl hunting and the need to conserve the wetland habitat upon which they depend. Through this event we hope to introduce families to traditional ways to enjoy wetlands, hunting, bird watching, hiking, wildlife photography, and their intrinsic value as an inspiration for art. The Waterfowl Festival has been the park's best-attended event averaging over 10,000 visitors each year. Main attraction activities include: State Duck Calling Championship, Michigan Duck Stamp Competition, Youth Duck & Goose Calling Contest, Wildlife Art Show, DNR Waterfowl Forecast, Quack-Athalon, Youth & Adult Waterfowl Calling and ID classes, Dog Retrieving Fun Trials, Parent Youth Canoe Race, Youth outdoor skill workshops, Waterfowl ID Trail, Live Animal Presentation, Puppet shows, Food concessions, Children's Ducky Crafts, Waterfowl & Outdoor Recreation Expo and much, much more! | ||

| From Interstate 75 take Beaver Rd. East, to the Bay City State Recreation Area, turn Left into the Day Use Area. At the T intersection turn Left. At the end of the parking lot is the Saginaw Bay Visitor Center where the festival will be held indoors and outdoors. | |||
