Why Clinton Fall Festival?????

Why does a small town of fewer than 2500 people present a three day extravaganza of fun, food, and festivities for families and friends from near and far? How do they do it? And why have they done it for 44 years?

Some answers:

Tradition -The Festival began in 1973 as a way to help local merchants attract business. It was successful and enjoyable and those involved decided to have it continue and grow.

Community spirit-It takes a village! For many years the Festival Board and Chairs meet regularly year round. That community participation intensifies as Festival days draw near. Local merchants, organizations and churches, the schools, and neighbors all pitch in to make the Festival possible.

Education-Lost Arts at the Smith-Kimball Community Center, non-profit booths throughout the Festival streets, the Friends of the Library used book sale, the Historical Society of Clinton's exhibit at the library, the car show at Tate Park, animal attractions, the Michigan High School Rodeo, and many of the craft and food vendors provide a variety of ways for all to learn.

Entertainment-Two stages of entertainment give Festival goers a chance to relax and be entertained. Just traveling through all the areas of the Festival is entertainment enough for many!

Fund-raising-All the churches and non-profit groups in Clinton and many from nearby areas have food and other items for purchase to help them raise funds for their organizations good works. Some of the money the Festival Board raises provides three scholarships each year since 1999 for graduating Clinton High School seniors.

So please join us in Clinton, MI on September 28, 29, and 30 and help us grow the tradition of Clinton Fall Festival, often voted "best in Lenawee County."
