Description: | From Ann Arbor Area Earth Day Festival Website: The Ann Arbor Area Earth Day Festival is an annual celebration coordinated by the Environmental Education Network of Washtenaw (EE-NOW), a coalition of over fifteen local environmental nonprofits and agencies, and held at Leslie Science & Nature Center. A limited number of innovative clean energy groups and businesses are highlighted each year, as coordinated by the nonprofit Clean Energy Coalition.
This free, family-friendly event features displays from 40 local environmental, nonprofit, and governmental organizations; live animal demonstrations; hands-on activities; product & toy testing; live entertainment; green building & commuting technologies; energy topics; water awareness; sustainable agriculture; and more.
In the true spirit of Earth Day, this festival will again be a Zero Waste event, with the help from Recycle Ann Arbor and their grant from the Ann Arbor Area Community foundation. Visitors can help keep up the average of 90% waste diverted from landfills during the Earth Day Event by bringing their reusable water bottle, and putting their waste in the right receptacles.
Earth Day admission is free thanks to generous sponsorships.
